Tony has a innate distrust of anything secretive, and must always strive to find out what people might be keeping from him; because of this he is generally watched closely.
Tony was a child prodigy genius, and excelled in every academic field he entered, graduating top of his class at MIT when he was only 17. He became close friends with his best friend, James Rhodes, shortly after the death of his parents which is one of the few relationships that Tony has managed to keep strong.

Tony sat up against the edge of the bed, and pushed his face into his hands in frustration. It was still late, and Pepper was fast asleep on the other side of the bed. He didn't want to wake her, but he knew that he wouldn't be able to sleep. he stood from the bed and began to make his way out of the room. Stopping himself at the door, he looked back at his girls prone form lying there, and smiled before turning and heading down to the basement.
The stone stairwell felt cold, even through his slip ons, but he didn't care. At the bottom of the stairs he swiped his hand on the reader and it opened. Across in the centre a robot arm swung around and up as if to look at him. A paper cone hat with the word, "dunce" was sitting a top it's head from last nights issue with the fire extinguisher, "Are you going to think tonight?" Tony addressed the robot as if it were a person. The metallic arm moved up and down as if to signify yes, "We'll see. Keep the cap on for now though," He added, moving across to the workbench.
"Another night of work then, Sir?" a voice rang through the room from JARVIS. "Shall I prepare the next stage plans for you, Sir?" the robotic assistant added which Tony just nodded to as he moved a hand in mid-air across the desk to bring up the holographic display.
